December Drill 12/6/09

Engine 23 and Utility 23 went to the Training Center to do some live burn evolutions with station 47 (Sergeantsville). Crews ran several evolutions that included search teams and hoselines advancing to extinguish fires. Command was passed at each evolution to a different officer.

Drill January 28

A table top training session to prepare ourselves for one of our 2010 initiatives (building pre planning) was held. Deputy Chief Hendricks reviewed the procedure that the company will use to gather information about specific buildings within our coverage area. In groups, information was gathered about the firehouse. That information was then turned into Stocktons very first fire preplan. Looking forward 5 groups will be assigned a building to obtain information about and on our "rainy night" drill sessions this information will be pulled and discussed and pre plans will be created. A company walkthrough will then be scheduled to give all members a real life visual of that specific plan.
Drill November 12

First Aid Squad Captain Lisa Hendricks,Lt. Chris Nenna and EMT Linda Allen, reviewed the equipment on BLS 2351 and 52 with the company followed by a practical session on how firefighters can assist the EMT's with packaging patients.

January 14, drill

Deputy Chief 23 took the men to the Stockton Borough School to review ground ladder skills. Practiced were carries, raises and ladder positioning for various fire ground operations. Also some tips and discussion on placing ground ladders on uneven surfaces. All ladders were reviewed and given general maitenance. Chief 23 worked at the firehouse, organizing and labeling the radios and cabinets finishing up the new command vehicle. Assistant Chief 23 worked on getting 4 members measured for new turnout gear and taking inventory of our on hand gear.
October Drills

Both drills in October were dedicated to the use of our newly aquired air packs. The first was a familiarity drill with basic overview of all components. The Second drill was for use of the buddy breathing device, integrated PASS, and also replacing the mask of a downed firefighter whos mask may have been knocked off.
